Google is coming up with this solution at the right time because it is usually worrisome, distracting and irritating when you concentrate on something important to do but you just can't deal with that annoying video ads that plays automatically. Sometimes, it mixes up with the sound or music coming from your device or another.
Google actually knows that Websites that autoplay videos with sound as soon as one visits doesn't really go well for the user experience of the year award,
How It Works
The mute feature is off by default though, so you’ll first have to enable it by running Canary with the “--enable-features=SoundContentSetting” switch.
Once that’s on, you can mute a website by clicking the View Site Information symbol – it may look like a padlock – on the left-hand edge of the omnibar and selecting Sound.
Google Chrome will now configure this via the page information it receives. Once properly configured, Google Chrome will autoblock that page from autoplaying videos with sound permanently until you unmute it again.
Google’s François Beaufort points out that this feature is still being experimented at the moment. In the early version, the sound toggle has been placed in the page info popup which can be accessed by clicking on the far left of the address bar. This particular section already contains various toggles for things like JavaScript, Flash, and notifications.
