Pokémon Go Passes $1.2 bn Revenue With 752 Million Downloads

Pokémon Go continues to bring in significant revenues for Niantic. According to app intelligence startup Apptopia, the game has netted a staggering $1.2 billion in revenue over the last 12 months, with $950 million in just 2016.

The game is also one of the most played last year — with a total install base of over 752 million. Pokémon Go peaked at 100 million monthly users, but Apptopia notes that the game still drew in 60 million players last month, of which 20% opened the game at least once a day. Apptopia also shared details on Pokémon Go’s user demographic — 57.4% of the players are male, 32% are 18 and younger, and 38% are aged 19 to 34.

Pokémon Go’s ability to lure in adults looking to relive the nostalgia as well as younger users was what turned it into a global sensation, and with Niantic adding new features, there’s a lot to get excited about. Are you still playing the game?
