Are you interested in Netflix? If yes, then feel free to read on as you will be well tutored on how to set up Netflix so you can enjoy your favourite TV shows in unique style.
How to set up Netflix
1. Signing up to Netflix
This is the very first step in order to use Netflix. Signining up can be done through the various devices platforms on offer (Web, Android, iOS, Fire TV, Chromecast), or you can go online and do it from the Netflix website. As this is a monthly service, you will need to enter in your card details.
Fill in details correctly as this process is self-explanatory. You will need to use a strong password and an email address to gain access to Netflix on any device and then fill out various other fields. Using a strong password is for security purpose so you won't be a victim of your account being borrowed.
If your finances are good and everything checks out, you should be up and running in no time. If not, you should contact Netflix and get the creases ironed out.
2. Get a Smart TV (Optional)
There's a good chance you can watch Netflix using a Smart TV without any external device. Netflix app is usually pre-installed most Smart TVs. If not, you can freely download and install it via your TV app store.
You can check the manufacturer's website of your Smart TV to know if the Netflix app is pre-installed or not. Feel free to look for the app by using the search function of your Smart TV app (if any) and run it. Now, you will be asked to enter in your email address and password.
Note: Netflix requires a broadband Internet connection with fast download speed, otherwise it will pause or break a lot which is quite unpleasant. But more importantly, ensure your TV is connected via an ethernet cable (the one you stick into a router) or WiFi (smart TVs tend to have wireless connectivity built in).
3. Enjoy Netflix on your Mobile device
This is quite good news especially when you are far from your Netflix enabled Smart Tv. Netflix is available on Android, iOS and Windows Phone as a free application. Feel free to search for and download this useful app via Google Play, App Store or Marketplace.
A tablet or smartphone that is connected to the internet via WiFi router, 4G/3G or wireless dongle. If you are good to go in this respect, you will be prompted to enter your login details when you first load up the app. Kindly do so and explore!
Note: Keep in mind your data allowance and usage when watching Netflix away from a free WiFi hotspot. You may consume your data plan so fast before realizing what just hit you.
You can also use Netflix on the following devices
1. Computers ( Windows, Macbook, Linux )
Windows users can stream Netflix through an internet browser. All you have to do is navigate to Netflix.com and then, again, enter in your email address and password you chose when signing up to the movie streaming service.
Ensure you have the Microsoft Silverlight plug-in installed. If not, you should be prompted to download it. Choose to run the plug-in installation process.
For Mac users, you can download a Netflix app from the Mac App Store so you can watch your favourite shows without having to open up your preferred internet browser.
2. Games consoles ( PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii and Wii U)
Feel free to download the Netflix app for any one of the gadgets above. Install it, launch it, input the necessary information as required by Netflix and you are good to go. Ensure your internet connection is fast enough.
It is also important to say that you can have up to six unique 'authorised' Netflix-ready devices linked to your account. You can go to the Netflix 'Your Account' area to monitor the devices you use, activate a new device, sign out of all devices, cancel your membership and check your viewing activity among other things.
Netflix is quite available for almost any suitable platforms or gadgets in the market. The processes are similar to the ones discussed above. You can explore them as much as you know fully well that there are several ways to skin a cat. Thanks for reading!
