Niantic’s Pokemon GO is a game unlike any we’ve seen so far, and given the popularity of the Pokemon franchise, it’s safe to say that Niantic certainly was not prepared for the onslaught of players when they first launched, and they also seemed to have underestimated the number of gamers that would show up at their first event in Chicago.
However the company did state that they would be learning from this experience and apply that to future events, like those coming up in Europe, but unfortunately for European fans, you guys will have to wait a little bit longer as Niantic has since announced that they will be postponing their events in the region , or at least certain parts of it.
According to Niantic, “In order to guarantee the best possible gameplay experience for European Trainers, we have decided to postpone the events in Europe scheduled for August 5 (Copenhagen and Prague) and August 12 (Stockholm and Amsterdam) until a date later in the Fall.”
The company states that only the events in Europe will be postponed, and that those scheduled to take place in Japan will continue as planned, and those in September in France, Spain, and Germany will also proceed as per usual. Hopefully they’ll be able to sort this out because we’re sure the last thing the company needs is another lawsuit.
