Social media giant Facebook on Wednesday introduced a feature called "Group For pages" which helps Communities to hold discussions on their various Areas.
With this Group For Pages, Page admins to create special groups within their Pages to provide a channel of discussion among people and authorities on subjects of common interest.
According to Chris Cox, Chief Product Officer, Facebook, in a post:
"We are making 'Groups for Pages' available around the world today. If you are an artist, a business, a brand, or a newspaper, you can now create fan clubs and groups centred around your super-fans,"
The Group For Pages is meant for super-fans who wanted to be a part of the day-to-day discussion of the decisions inside the walls of an organisation they care about and to connect with others who felt the same way.
Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg also hailed the idea of 'Groups for Pages' hoping the new feature will bring people closer together.
"A lot of people follow pages on Facebook for topics they are interested in. So today, we're making it easier to join groups around the pages you follow," said Zuckerberg in a Facebook post.
In Facebook today, there are over 80 millions Pages on Facebook and the company hopes this initiative will help people join meaningful communities.
